4 S.J. doctors cited for efforts
Four South Jersey doctors who treat pregnant women
and infants have been honored by the March of Dimes for their accomplishments.
The organization's Award of Excellence was presented at a Born to Shine gala in Atlantic City -- part of the organization's effort to call attention to premature birth
, the leading cause of death for newborns. Premature birth affects more than 500,000 infants per year and often causes serious defects that can last a lifetime, according to the March of Dimes.
